November 9 marks the anniversary of Kristalnacht, the first large scale state-sponsored violence against Jews in Nazi Germany. That night led to continued escalation in the way Nazi Germany treated Jews in its territory, eventually leading to the Holocaust - the largest state-sponsored genocide in human history. In commemoration of the 82nd anniversary of Kristalnacht, Illini Hillel hosted two events in co-operation with the Program in Jewish Cultural and Society. The events brought researchers from Muzeum Krakowa to share their stories of uncovering the truth about Plaszow, a forgotten Concentration Camp on the outskirts of Krakow, Poland.
